Tech On Edge Weekly 9: Icream Man
Cisco Telepresence
While flipping through channels I see the strangest commercial. It seems as if there is a “portal” that leads between I think it was North Korea and Japan. Anyways, I thought wow this looks awesome. It turns out that it was something called Telepresence by Cisco. This technology can be used for fun like in this youtube video or it can be very practical, like saving money on plane trips for business meetings by simply having telepresence in multiple offices. One of the features that makes this stand-out more than just a simple videoconference with webcams is that this is displayed using 1080p HD screens, making it seem like the person is right there in front of you.

Then finishing up with a visual inspection of Ubuntu eee and Adobe Connect Now and Dim Dim. Join us this week as we build our own foundation of tech, of course, with bricks.
